Ever since Juan Soto joined the New York Mets, the pressure that was previously only on players like Francisco Lindor and Pete Alonso, has lowered a little. This has been the case, especially for Lindor, who has been carrying a lot of expectations from fans. Therefore, due to Soto's entry, Lindor can have a "lot better season" than the ex-Yankees star.
Yankees insider claimed Francisco Lindor to have a better 2025 season than Juan Soto
In the offseason, the New York Mets signed Juan Soto for a massive contract of $765 Million. Soto's entry has lifted the pressure off of Francisco Lindor's head, therefore, expected to have a better season than the ex-Yankees star.
It's not something that just the fans feel but also Yankees insider Emmanuel Berbari, who shared his opinion on the same on Wednesday's SNY appearance. Berbari claimed that Lindor has been feeling comfortable and relaxed, focused on his performance, since Soto's entry. Sharing details into his take, Berbari said:
"I think he's gonna have a lot better season than Juan Soto. There's evidence here, too. Lindor's first season with the Mets, he came in, struggled mightily, his buddy Javi Baez came in, Lindor got more comfortable.""And he relaxes [in the] final couple of months of the season, .800 OPS, and he plays them like a 40 Homer pace. Last year, Jose Iglesias came in May 31, loosened up the locker room, Lindor was struggling mightily, but there's not the same attention on Lindor as a leader," Berbari further added.
Juan Soto left the New York Yankees to join the New York Mets in December. Two months after his departure, Yankees captain Aaron Judge shared his opinion on Soto's departure and claimed to
have "no hard feelings" for him.
As for Juan Soto, the reason why he decided to leave the Yankees for the Mets is due to the fact that
he "felt comfortable" with the latter's offer. Following his signing with the Mets, Soto came forward to talk about his
mamba mentality for his first season with the team.
After Juan Soto, the Mets re-signed their star player Pete Alonso, who later shared being "so happy" and
excited to play alongside his new teammate.
