When asked about the boos afterward, his response was immediate and unfiltered."I'd be booing us too," Brunson said. "Straight up."The Knicks trailed early and never recovered as Dallas controlled the pace and energy. The loss dropped New York to 25-18, their ninth defeat in 11 games. A team that once looked secure near the top of the East now finds itself closer to the Play-In race than to first place.Karl-Anthony Towns also addressed the crowd’s reaction after posting 22 points and 18 rebounds. He spoke from the perspective of fans who paid to be there."You come, you spend, what $140 bucks to represent your favorite player with a jersey?" Towns said. "And to come here and spend your hard-earned money, money that you've saved up to bring your family to this game and for us to come here and obviously, not only [not] win — which is disappointing — but not really have a chance. I'd be disappointed too."Brunson shared the accountability when discussing the team’s urgency moving forward."Should've started a couple weeks ago, but we gotta start tomorrow," he said. "We've got to figure this out fast."Knicks head coach Mike Brown also addressed the reaction from the stands and did not push back on it.“I’m okay with the boos,” Brown said. “If we’re playing crappy, boo. If I was in the stands, I would boo, too. You pay hard money to come to the game. This is a form of entertainment for the fans. They know good basketball, they know bad basketball, and we didn’t play good basketball in the first half.”Dallas dominated the home team with Max Christie’s game-high 26 points. The Knicks shot 40 percent from the field and struggled from three-point range, finishing 9-of-31. As for Brunson and co., they are looking to get their momentum back in the coming games.
