NBA legend Stephen Curry and his wife, Ayesha Curry, made a special announcement on Instagram. The duo posted a clip with a major update while collaborating with the official page of their foundation, Eat. Learn. Play. It is about the second film made to showcase the foundation's progress in transforming the schoolyards in Oakland. The film features testimonies from the students and the teachers themselves.

This is the second film that charts the foundation's progress and development. The first film to do so was a short documentary on literacy titled “From Struggle to Strength.” It focused on the need to reinvent literacy in the schools of Oakland and take possible measures for it. The film was released almost a year ago on February 1, 2025.

NBA legend Stephen Curry and his wife, Ayesha Curry’s initiative, Eat. Learn. Play has been making significant progress in developing the schools of Oakland. Their latest initiative involved transforming the schoolyards in the schools of Oakland. Focused on this aspect, the foundation produced a documentary, which is the second in the series of charting the foundation’s progress. Announcing the film, the Golden State Warriors star stated, “We are excited to share our short documentary ‘Building Joy: A Movement to Reimagine Oakland’s Schoolyards.’ The second film in our series of highlighting our foundation’s work in Oakland Public Schools.”


Ayesha then took over and continued, “Building Joy follows our effort in transforming schoolyards to vibrant student-centered spaces, as told through the voices of students and educators alongside our partners at OUSD and Kaboom.” She further added, “The film captures joy, progress, vision and the community behind this work that has become a movement to create amazing spaces for every child to play, learn and thrive.” Stephen ended the announcement with, “We hope you watch the film and share it with others and join us in continuing this work. Because when we build spaces with kids at the center, the impact lasts for generations.”
