Patrick Queen is not spending much time worrying about trade rumors. After weeks of speculation linking the Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker to a possible move elsewhere, the two-time Pro Bowler made it clear that his focus remains on football, not offseason chatter. Questions about Queen's future surfaced earlier this offseason as he entered the final year of his contract. With no extension in place and a sizable cap number attached to his deal, some analysts floated the possibility of a trade or even a roster move. Despite the noise, Queen remains firmly in Pittsburgh as the Steelers continue preparations for the 2026 season. No specific franchise has emerged as a serious trade destination for Queen, but his profile naturally attracts attention around the league. At just 26 years old, he combines durability, production, and experience at a premium defensive position. Teams seeking help at linebacker would undoubtedly have interest if Pittsburgh ever made him available. Queen has started 101 consecutive games since entering the NFL and has recorded five 100-tackle seasons in six years. That type of consistency is difficult to find. However, there is little evidence that the Steelers are actively shopping him. Speaking during organized team activities, Queen downplayed the entire situation. "I saw the whole charade that went on all this offseason, but I mean it's talks. Obviously, no movement either way," he said. The linebacker acknowledged that some reports contained elements of truth but believes social media amplified the speculation beyond reality. "Some of it was true, but some of it was extended truth, just people rambling and stuff," Queen said. "That's what you can have with social media nowadays. You know, everybody wants the first say whatever happens -- and wants to hope to be right. [There were] very [few] facts out there." Queen is entering the final season of his current deal, which explains why rumors surfaced in the first place. He confirmed there have been no major developments regarding a contract extension. "There has been nothing crazy" in negotiations, according to Queen. Still, he does not appear concerned about his long-term future. "I've got a good amount of money coming in this year," Queen said. "So at the end of the day, I couldn't care less. If they do want to extend, cool. If not, cool. At the end of the day, it's a business." For Pittsburgh, keeping Queen is the preferred outcome. He remains one of the defense's most reliable players and finished near the top of the team tackle rankings again last season. With Mike McCarthy beginning his first year as head coach and Aaron Rodgers expected to play his final NFL season, stability on defense could be critical. Unless negotiations change dramatically, Queen's comments suggest both sides are comfortable moving forward together, leaving trade speculation with little substance heading into the season.
