Rashee Rice is facing a lawsuit that brings serious personal allegations into public view, at a time when his football career still feels on the rise. The Rashee Rice, who helped power the Kansas City Chiefs to a Super Bowl title as a rookie, is now being sued by his ex partner, Dacoda Nichole Jones, for $1 million. The case, filed in district court, outlines accusations that stretch across nearly two years.
Jones, the mother of his two children, claims the abuse was not isolated but repeated. Her lawsuit, first detailed in court records obtained by TMZ, describes a relationship marked by violence, fear, and lasting injury. The claims add to earlier public accusations she shared months ago, shifting the matter from social media to a legal fight with far greater consequences.

The lawsuit paints a troubling timeline. Dacoda Jones alleges the abuse took place between December 2023 and July 2025, during a period when Rice’s professional life was accelerating. According to the report, “Rashee Rice’s longtime partner and mother of his children has filed an explosive lawsuit against the NFL star, accusing him of choking, strangling, scratching, hitting, and headbutting her over a nightmare 19 month period.”
Her filing goes further. It claims she endured “other violent and abusive behaviors,” including having objects thrown at her, witnessing walls punched, and furniture broken in anger. She also states the physical toll was severe, citing “bleeding, swelling, bruising, and other pain and physical injury to her neck, face, mouth, arms, legs, chest, and shoulder.” Some of these alleged incidents, she says, happened while she was pregnant.
This is not the first time Jones has spoken publicly. In January 2026, she posted on Instagram about abuse throughout their eight year relationship, including claims she was locked outside in freezing temperatures. That post sparked widespread attention, and soon after, the Chiefs acknowledged the situation.
“The club is aware of the allegations on social media and is in communication with the National Football League,” the Chiefs said. “We have no further comment at this time.”
The National Football League confirmed it had been in contact with the team and was reviewing the matter. Now, with a formal lawsuit filed, the issue moves beyond statements and into a courtroom, where the claims and Rice’s response will be tested under oath.
Rice’s football future once looked defined by records and championships. Now, it faces a different kind of scrutiny, one that does not unfold on a field.
