Volleyball is a popular team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by sending the ball over the net and grounding it on the opponent's court, as well as preventing the same effort by the opponent. It is a game that requires agility, strategy, and teamwork, and can be played both indoors and on the beach. Gameplay Volleyball is played on a rectangular court that is 18 meters long and 9 meters wide, divided into two equal halves by a net. The game begins with a serve, where a player hits the ball over the net to the opposing team. The receiving team must then use a combination of no more than three touches to return the ball back over the net. Typically, these touches include a bump (or pass), a set, and a spike (or attack). Rules
Scoring: A point is scored when the ball touches the ground on the opponent's side of the court. Matches are usually played in a best-of-five sets format. Each set is played to 25 points, and a team must win by at least two points. The fifth set, if necessary, is played to 15 points.
Rotation: Players must rotate in a clockwise direction every time their team wins back the serve from the opposition. This rotation ensures that each player gets the opportunity to play in both the front and back rows.
Touch Limit: Each team is allowed a maximum of three successive contacts with the ball to return it to the opponent's side. The contacts are typically a pass, a set, and an attack hit.
Serving: The server must stand behind the end line and can serve the ball overhand or underhand. If the serve touches the net but still goes over and lands in the opponent's court, it is considered a valid serve.
Blocking and Attacking: Players in the front row can jump and block the ball from coming over the net or attack it to send it back to the opponent's side. Back-row players can only attack if they jump from behind the attack line (three-meter line).
Faults: Points can be lost if the ball is hit out of bounds, the ball touches the net or an antenna, a player touches the net, or the ball is caught and thrown rather than hit cleanly.
