WWE RAW Results & Highlights 5-jan-2026: Stranger Things edition sees CM Punk retain his World title, two new champions crowned, and more

WWE RAW presented its first episode of 2026 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The edition was themed around the popular series ‘Stranger Things’ that saw two major championships change hands and some thrilling moments, befitting the celebration of RAW’s first year anniversary on Netflix.It culminated with a blockbuster main event showdown for the World Heavyweight title. The match saw CM Punk derail Bron Breakker in his tracks to keep his title reign intact and end Monday Night RAW on a high note.The episode began with the first match of the night for the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles. Rhea Ripley and IYO Sky challenged Asuka and Kairi Sane in a classic tag showdown. It was a back-and-forth encounter between both sides. In the end, Ripley and Sky delivered a combination of the moonsault and Riptide to Asuka, and Sky delivered a suicide dive on Sane, while Ripley got the pin to become the new champions.Maxxine Dupri was set to defend her WWE Women’s Intercontinental title against the woman she defeated to win it, Becky Lynch. The underdog put up a valiant effort against The Man, who came with full fury in an attempt to regain the title. As the final moments came about, Dupri reversed a Powerbomb attempt with her ankle lock. Lynch escaped and got her in a pinfall position while holding the ropes to steal the win and the title from Dupri. The match marked Liv Morgan’s first singles match in six months in WWE. She squared off against Lyra Valkyria in an evenly matched contest. Moreover m, both women had Roxanne Perez and Bayley in their corners, respectively. The action continued inside the ring while Perez and Bayley had their altercation outside ,while Perez attempted to run interference. The Role Model chased her to the back, while Morgan hit The Oblivion on Valkyria to seal the victory.The main event of the upside-down Monday Night RAW was CM Punk defending his World Heavyweight Championship against the rising star, Bron Breakker. The Unpredictable Bada** brought the fight to the veteran champion and had his Vision cohorts and Paul Heyman firmly in his corner. Despite that, Punk fought valiantly and even had backup from Rey Mysterio, Dragon Lee, and Penta to neutralise The Vision.
