Kashmir gets some respite from cold wave conditions

Despite the end of the harshest winter period, Kashmir continues to experience a cold wave with temperatures remaining below freezing point. The Gulmarg skiing resort recorded a temperature of -7.0 degrees Celsius while Pahalgam tourist resort reached a low of -8.6 degrees Celsius, making it the coldest place in the valley. Other towns in south Kashmir also experienced sub-zero temperatures. Srinagar, the summer capital, had a low of -4.9 degrees Celsius. These temperatures are around four degrees below normal for this time of the year. The cold wave is expected to continue for the next few weeks in the valley.
