Although the menu at Ming Court rambles on for 16 pages, a visit here can be justified on account of these three dishes—the deep fried lobster with cheese and angel hair, the shrimp with egg white, and the giant groper enrobed in minced and pepper shrimp. Located inside the Langham Place Hotel in Mongkok (an area frequented most for its shopping hubs), Ming Court has been around for almost a decade now, and has earned two Michelin stars in the intervening time. Chef Tsang Chiu King has mastered the art of creating big flavours from delicate ingredients (the shrimp with egg white dish is proof of it), and has earned a reputation for plating up some of the best nouveau Cantonese fare in Hong Kong. Peruse through the menu if you’ve got a good understanding of the cuisine, if not, stick with our suggestions—or limit your experiments to the seafood and dim sum section—and you’ll walk out a happy diner.
