If it is rustic Italian food you are after, look no further in the city than Villa Firenze. One of the best parts about this particular restaurant is its history. In 1954 the Tudda family (Joe and Teresa) emigrated to Canada where they opened a small pizzeria, instantly becoming a huge success. They opened Villa Firenze with their four children in 1991 and the restaurant continues to be run by Tony Nicastro, the grandson of Joe. Walking into the restaurant one immediately becomes engulfed in a warm and inviting atmosphere, coupled with the smell of their famous Portobello mushroom dish. One can certainly depend on getting an Italian wine here and they are carefully selected to pair with each dish. Every dish here is homemade, using the freshest ingredients and cooked to perfection. Between the wonderful food and the lovely atmosphere complete with crisp white table linens, original brick pillars and plenty of light, you will find yourself wanting to return here night after night.
