Central Airport Plaza

Though no longer one of Chiang Mai’s biggest and best shopping malls, Central Airport Plaza is still a popular spot and convenient place to shop, go out to eat and catch a movie. Located near the Chiang Mai International Airport, the shopping center has ample parking and anything you may need. There are a wide range of restaurants, including a surprising number of Japanese buffets, along with a food court offering cheap traditional Thai dishes, supermarket and impressive “Northern Village” selling all sorts of northern Thai treats, snacks and handmade goods. The mall also boasts a popular movie theater and, as is common with many Thai shopping centers, a floor dedicated to beautiy and weight loss clinics. Branches of all the main Thai banks and communications service centers like True or AIS are also available so if you need to get any banking, payments or mobile phone issues sorted, this is a great place to do it – especially if you need help over the weekends. Additionally, you’ll often find some sort of fair, festival or special activities running at this mall or in the attached exhibition center – there’s never a dull moment!
