It feels like a space shuttle that has got stuck in some outgrowth on the banks of a river. At night it feels like a night watchman overlooking the city so that it can sleep peacefully. While strolling by the River Danube at Bratislava, you cannot miss the tall structure on its banks with an UFO like building hanging on to it. It feels like a space shuttle that has got stuck in some outgrowth on the banks of a river. At night it feels like a night watchman overlooking the city so that it can sleep peacefully. Novy Most or Observation Deck is obviously a new construction in the city as it is visible from the aesthetics and the material used. Constructed in 1971, this observation deck stands 300 feet above the waters of the Danube River. 300 feet is a good vantage point to have a bird’s eye view of the surroundings. My favorite activity on top of an observation deck is always a guessing game – how many places in the city can you spot from the top. Like most observation decks around the world, this one also has an elevator to take you up and there is a high-end restaurant, very aptly called UFO, where with prior reservations you can relish your meal while enjoying breathtaking views of the surroundings. You can buy souvenirs from here to take back with you.
