Can’t express my feeling when I sense life inside my womb during these traumatic times: Mom-to-be Prriyam Chakroborty on embracing motherhood during the pandemic

Bengali actress Prriyam Chakroborty is going to be a mom soon. Away from the hustle-bustle of the shooting floor, the mom-to-be is enjoying her new journey. Prriyam's husband Suvajit Kar is equally excited to welcome their bundle of joy. Amid the pandemic, Chakraborty and Kar families are looking forward to the days ahead. From motherhood, career, insecurities due to the pandemic to a ray of hope during these trying times, Prriyam poured her heart about everything. Excerpts... (Photo: Facebook)

It was indeed a surprise for me and Suvajit:

Prriyam was quite surprised when she learned the news. At that time, she was busy with two shows- 'Harano Sur' and ''Mithai. “It was indeed a surprise to me. We never discussed starting a family. I woke up Suvajit in the morning after I found out about the pregnancy. He was quite chilled out. It made me more nervous (laughs). I asked-how could you be so cool?” she laughed while remembering. Later, Prriyam went for the shoot but it wasn’t ‘just another day’ for her. “I was travelling by car and kept thinking about the pleasant surprise,” says the actress. (Photo: Facebook)

A new journey

“Finally Suvajit and I had the talk. It's a new journey for us. We discussed everything right from how to inform our parents, production house, and a few other things. Our parents were on cloud nine after learning about it,” says the actress. (Photo: Facebook)

Motherhood changes everything

Prriyam, who is known for her bubbly persona and fun-loving nature, shared how things have changed ever since she got the good news. “They say motherhood changes everything and I have experienced it now. I have become quite mature (laughs). Everything I do, everything I think involves the new member whom we are all eager to welcome,” she adds. (Photo: Facebook)

Pregnancy during the pandemic

Prriyam continued shooting with utmost care. She tried to keep her professional commitments. Soon after that, restrictions were imposed in the state. Since then, she is at home and hasn’t stepped out because of the pandemic. “To be honest, I am concerned about the safety of my baby. We all are strictly following all the precautions. I haven’t stepped out other than visiting a clinic. Suvajit is also very careful. Maa is taking care of me all the time,” shares the actress. (Photo: Facebook)

Pandemic left a scar for lifetime on us

The actress lost her grandmother due to COVID-19 complications. Speaking about the loss, she said, “The pandemic has left a far-stretched scar. I lost my grandmother recently. My mom is a working lady. Since childhood, Dimma has been mostly around me. I will always repent that she couldn’t see her grandchild. She was more enthusiastic about the baby.” Prriyam also shared how the pandemic affected the natural rhythm of life. “We have lost so many people around us. I called up one of my friends and learned that she lost her dad. Another friend of mine lost her father-in-law. Though I wanted to share the good news with them, their pain left me deeply saddened,” says the actress. (Photo: Facebook)

Count me in your blessings
