Happy Valentine’s Day: TV actors share their funny memories associated with the day of love

With magic and warmth in the air, almost everyone is enjoying the fever of love. But love isn’t love if you haven’t done anything crazy, stupid and almost irrational. After all, there is nothing wrong in wearing your heart on your sleeve. In a candid conversation with TimesofIndia.com, popular TV actors shared interesting and funny memories associated with Valentine’s Day. Here’s what they have to say… (Photo: Facebook)

Aishwarya Sen:

Aishwarya is one of the most beautiful actresses of Bengali television and has a long list of admirers since school days. The gorgeous actress happily shared one of her funny memories with us. She said, “In school, I had a friend with whom I was very close and we were mostly seen together. So, whenever any guy liked me, he used to approach my friend to convey his message to me. But the funniest part was, I used to find those guys talking to my friend and gelling up almost instantly. And after some days, my friend used to have some issues with those guys. Then she used to come to me adding that the guy wasn't good for me. And I had no clue how the guys who liked me ended up with her or vice versa. This happened many time I still remember.” The ‘Shubho Drishti’ actress laughed out loud while sharing the memory. Well, she has someone special in her life and Aishwarya will spend V-day with her beau.

Shoumo Banerjee:

Shoumo, who is playing the lead in ‘Nishir Daak’, is one of the most successful Bengali TV actors. No wonder he has a long list of female admirers. But the actor was a shy guy when he was young. Shoumo said, “During my college days, I was quite a shy guy when it came to conversing on the matters of the heart. I had a strong liking towards a Marathi girl. So, finally on Valentine's Day, I gathered courage to confess my feelings and my friends were tensed. I waited the entire day to find out the right moment. In the evening, we had a college event, when I went up to the podium and just sang Kehna Hai from the film Padosan but never mentioned who it was meant to be for. My friends couldn't stop making fun of my brave way of proposing. Today, when I think of it I laugh out loud at the innocence that we used to have. And sometimes, it makes me proud that it helped me grow as a person.” (Photo: Facebook)

Adrija Addy Roy:

Adrija, who is playing the lead in ‘Mangal Chandi’ has a long list of admirers. She too shared a fun-filled experience. “I was in class VIII. Two of my seniors used to like me back then. They were in class IX. At that time, V-day was all about exchanging gifts and roses rather than going on a date and other things. So, both of these guys gave me gifts. I couldn’t say no because they used to help me with notes. I accepted their gifts. I felt, I should also give them something in return at least out of courtesy. But had no pocket money. You know what I did? I changed the wrappers and exchanged the gifts and gave them away. It helped me in two ways, I didn’t have to take the gifts back home, face my parents and I didn’t have to buy anything other than the wrapper,” she burst into laughter. (Photo: Facebook)

Shreema Bhattacherjee:

Shreema, who is busy with daily soap ‘Beder Meye Jyotsna’, is a bubbly girl by nature. When we asked her about any fun-filled memory associated with the day of love she said, “I have two funny incidents to share. During TV show Naagleela, my co-stars were on leave and being single, I had nothing to do the Valentine’s Day. So, I had no reason to take an off-day either. Soon after the shoot ended, I gave a ride to one of my crew members on the scooty. Then we both had a Facebook live stating the brighter part of staying single.” She laughed while sharing. Then she added, “Once Valentine's Day and Saraswati Puja were on the same date. And I went out with my childhood buddies. On the street, a random guy was trying to confess his feelings but I was too busy speaking with my group. Unfortunately, my friends noticed him and did almost everything to embarrass me in front of that guy. In fact, they told him to shout out loud because I am deaf! Can you believe that!” Well, let us tell you that Shreema has found someone special and is celebrating this Valentine’s Day with him. (Photo: Facebook)

Suvajit Kar:

The handsome actor is busy with his recently launched show ‘Dhurbatara’. Suvajit shared an incident which is quite relatable to all who bunk classes on V-day. But the actor, who recently got married to his long-time girlfriend Prriyam, made an ‘innocent mistake’. The actor said, “I was in class IX and used to like a girl. On Valentine’s Day, we bunked our school along with our friends. We roamed around and came back home at noon. When my parents asked why I am so early, I innocently replied we had half-day at school because of Valentine’s Day. I was so lame! I still can’t believe I did this.” (Photo: Facebook)

Sharly Modak:

The pretty actress had an interesting story to tell. She said, “I was in school and there was a guy who used to like me. I could see him waiting for me outside my school. But he never had the courage to tell me anything since I didn’t give him any importance. So, on Valentine’s Day, as a desperate attempt, he threw a love letter towards my rickshaw. Unfortunately, it didn’t reach me and another girl, who was just behind me, got the letter. After few months, I saw that girl with this boy. Which means the letter reached the right owner and I played cupid unknowingly,” she shared with a big smile. Well, this Valentine’s Day, Sharly has shoot but she has some special plans with her beau too. (Photo: Facebook)

Ridhish Chowdhury:

The handsome guy was quite mischievous during his school days. Ridhish shared “I was in class IX. On Valentine’s Day, I saw all of my friends getting prepared with flowers and cards for their girlfriends. I was single and got really angry seeing my friends. So, decided to end my singlehood and approach all the girls I can see on the street. Let me tell you, we had Girls’ school adjacent to our school building. Following my agenda, I brought a few roses and approached girls for friendship. Some said yes, some readily denied. For those who denied, there was no meaning of gifting them roses. So I moved to another girl and approached the new one with the same flower. I was so mischievous, that even if the girl said yes, I requested her to give the flower back so that I can approach another girl.” He shared it with a big laughter and added, “Can you believe I actually did that!!” (Photo: Facebook)

Annwesha Hazra:

Annwesha aka Chuni is a bubbly girl just like her on-screen character. The actress, who hails from Burdwan, shared an interesting memory. She said, “Till now, I have never celebrated Valentine’s Day how other couples celebrate. But I have some good memories too. During my college days, I used to stay in a mess and my roommates became more than my family. We used to give each other flowers on Valentine’s Day. It was hilarious. But once a lady, who worked in our mess, gave me a flower bouquet on Valentine’s Day, it really touched my heart.” (Photo: Facebook)
