Arshi Khan reveals how Bigg Boss 11 happened to her; says ‘I had thought of leaving Mumbai and get married in Dubai but then got a call from the makers’

Arshi Khan recently opened up about how Bigg Boss 11 came into her life at a turning point. She shared that she was on the verge of leaving Mumbai and settling in Dubai for marriage when she received a life-changing call from the show's makers. With only Rs 8000 in her account, Arshi had to convince her father to let her stay in Mumbai and seize the opportunity. In a podcast, she spoke about her reality show experience.

I always wanted to be in the industry. My wish was to meet Salman Khan. Even in dreams I used to see him. I was good in studies and would also top. I wanted to do modelling and win beauty pageants and it happened.

In 2014, I wanted to step out but my father was not allowing. Slowly, he understood that I was serious. I came to Mumbai and met a few people. Chant toh hu main. Kaam nikal liya. I did a few beauty pageants, modelling, garment shoots and kept working for 2 years. Before coming to Mumbai from Bhopal, I didn’t work at all.

My mother had trusted me that I will do something. In 2017, some of my videos went viral. Then I kind of wanted to give up and go to Dubai, get married to someone and live comfortably. I went back to Bhopal and told my mom that nothing is happening in Mumbai. My mom started crying and exactly at 9 am someone from the channel called me saying they want me to become a contestant. Prior to that I had given around Rs 5000-10,000 to several people asking them to talk about me to anyone from the channel.

I thought someone is faking it. I had set up my mind that I will leave. I couldn’t sleep the entire night. I thought that it might also turn out to be true. I just had Rs 8000 in my account. I booked tickets for Rs 5500. I came to Mumbai and had a meeting fat 3.30 pm. I decided not to go. I thought someone is bluffing. Then someone called me and said the meeting has been rescheduled. I finally met. I saw all rich people seating around. I had nothing back then.

They asked everyone what they will do inside the house. I said, ‘Main aag lagane wali hu. Main logon ko jeene nahi dungi. Woh log rote rahenge ke isko ghar se bahar nikalo.’ They said I am selected and I entered Bigg Boss in October 2017.

The channel doesn’t take any money to give you an entry. People have offered me money asked me to give them an entrance in the show. Logon ke paas bahut paise hai because they want to make their own identity. I got a call because I was bold and some of my videos went viral. And they want people who are talkative.

All my fights in the house were real. Someone talks about me or behind me, that person is gone. Some people think that they can pick up a fight to stay relevant after getting nominated, so that they do.
