Bigg Boss 17 Grand Finale: From Salman Khan roasting Anurag Dobhal to Abhishek Kumar and Samarth Jurel burying the hatchet; Highlights from the finale

Bigg Boss 17 wrapped the season with a grand finale. After four months of major drama, emotional outbursts, fights, controversies and some happy moments, the show finally got its winner. Munawar Faruqui lifted the trophy and Abhishek Kumar became the first runner-up of the show. While announcing the winner Salman Khan even joked that nobody believed him when he called Munawar the winner of the show. The standup comic got Rs 50 Lakhs and a brand-new car with the coveted trophy.

Salman Khan announced the contestant who got evicted from the third runner-up position was Ankita Lokhande. Leaving Mannara Chopra, Abhishek Kumar and Munawar Faruqui in the top 3. Mannara then became the second runner-up on the show and got eliminated right before the top two.

When Ankita Lokhande got evicted, Salman Khan revealed that he was shocked to see her get eliminated before the top 2. He said, "I was actually thinking that Ankita would have been a part of the top two and would finish in the top position. I am shocked that you are not the winner. In fact, the whole team was shocked. In the last season, I thought Priyanka would be the winner but she wasn't. I will tell you honestly, according to reports everyone was rooting for Ankita Lokhande to lift the trophy of this season." He further praised Ankita and added, "This must have been the toughest journey of all time. I have witnessed all the Bigg Boss journeys, this one is the toughest of all time for sure."

Salman Khan, along with his brothers Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan, graced the stage. Amidst well-wishes for Arbaaz's recent marriage to Sshura Khan, the stage came alive with playful banter and humorous revelations. Bharti, the queen of comedy, couldn't resist teasing Arbaaz about not receiving a wedding invitation, to which Arbaaz, with his trademark wit, responded that she'd be on the guest list for his next wedding, but of course, someone else's. The lighthearted exchange brought the house down, leaving the audience in splits. Bharti cheekily inquired about Salman's reaction to Arbaaz's second wedding. Salman, playfully remarked that Arbaaz doesn't listen to anyone, dropping a subtle hint at Arbaaz's first marriage with Malaika Arora. he said, "Arbaaz sunta nahi kisika, agar suna hota toh..."The audience chuckled at the good-humored exchange.

Arun Mashetty was the first contestant to get eliminated. Renowned stars Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan entered the house with an interesting activity for the housemates to determine who would get evicted. The finalists had to add the potion bag to the bowl of water and if it changed its colour then the finalist would get evicted. Arun's bowl turned red and he got evicted from the house.

Salman Khan, the host, acknowledged Ankita and Vicky's four marriages to date. He also urged her to make 7 vachans (commitments) to her mother-in-law, and in exchange, she would make some promises. Ankita agrees, stating, "I'll keep Vicky happy, be there for him all the time, take care of the family, and more." Later, the host asked Vicky's mother to do the same. However, rather than making promises, she made a few requests of Ankita. Salman Khan starts laughing and asks Ranjana ji to make promises instead. She went on to say, "Ankita ye promise karo ke aise show main nahi aaogi ki humari image pani main chali jaye." He further compared Ranjana ji to Lalita Pawar, said, “Mujhe Lalita Pawar ji ki yaad aai, purani actress hai.. vo waise character ada karti thi but she’s the nicest lady out there.”

The top 5 finalists get blessings from their family members. They wish them with dahi-shakkar. The family members share heartfelt wishes as they are inches away from the trophy. They also give them lucky charms. Ankita gets her father's cap and spectacles, Mannara receives her Guruji's bracelet, Abhishek got his father's stole, Arun says his mother's blessings are everything and Munawar gets a photo of his son. His son also cheered for him in a video footage.

As Salman Khan begins with the Grand Finale, he roasts Anurag Dobhal mentioning his absence from the Finale, he said, "Isi season main the na who? Mujhse ya Bigg Boss se bahut khafa hai woh... Itna kuch post kardiya Bigg Boss ke khilaf, ki aa hi nahi paya rider.. Kahin wadiyo main ride kar raha hoga. Aur Anurag ki best friend bhi humse khafa hai."

During an interaction with Bharti and Haarsh, Abhishek Kumar and Samarth Jurel apologise to each other for one last time. Abhishek says, "I am really sorry for what happened." Samarth also replied, "I am also sorry for whatever happened between us in the house." Watching them Isha said, " I am taking a break from both of them right now." Bharti jokes, "Abhishek and Samarth have become best friends now. Soon Isha will leave them and go for her own Udaariyaan." Isha, Abhishek and Samarth bury the hatchet on the final day.

Abdu Rozik entered the house to support Munawar Faruqui, however, the hosts played a fun segment with Abdu where he had to offer a rose to all the single ladies in the house Ayesha, Manasvi, Soniya and others. Abdu then revealed that he would give the red rose to Isha because he has a crush on her. Isha also happily accepted the rose and danced with him on 'Tujhe dekha toh yeh jaana sanam'.

Orry aka Orhan Awatramani who stayed in the Bigg Boss 17 house for two days made a grand entry in the house and conducted a fashion show with the former contestants and finalists. Orry made Vicky walk with Ayesha and Sana. Orry was all praises for Rinku Dhawan's mini skirt. Samarth and Isha dance on the red carpet. Bharti says seeing Samarth's dance, "Main apne bete ki shaadi me isko nahi bulaungi."

All the former contestants apart from Anurag and KhanZaadi were present in the roast session during the Grand Finale. Bharti Singh and Krushna Abhishek even roasted the two by saying, "Woh yahan bhi nahi aa paye." KhanZaadi and Anurag had the most controversial stay in the house. Their exits from the show ended on a sour note, especially for Anurag. Anurag posted a cryptic post about not attending the show, "Atma samman ke liye main uski jhoothi tareef nahi kar sakta.. For those who are asking, I said no to attending the Bigg Boss finale. #brosenaontop #biggboss17."

Munawar Faruqui is known for his emotional narratives. Bharti and Krushna use their distinct sense of humour to decipher Munawar's prior sob stories. The duo playfully mocks Munawar's claim of having no 'roti' amid difficult circumstances, transforming a somber story into a side-splitting comedy. Their witty banter implies that, despite Munawar's troubles, he had a team of women who made sure he never went hungry, hinting at his romantic adventures. Krushna stated, "Inke ghar mein khane ki roti nahi thi; par banaane waali 3-4 thi." The smart remark has not only Munawar but all of the contestants in spasms of laughter.
