Now, she is happy to have her own identity. Speaking exclusively to ETimes TV, Arti Singh shares her coming out strong story, her wish to be a part of Kapil’s show, fighting mental health issues and more. By: Sukarna Mondal

Wishes to be a part of The Kapil Sharma Show

I want to do a dance reality show. Also, if Kapil Sharma takes me in his show, maza ajayega. It is one of the biggest comedy show, so why not. Comedy runs in my family, so, I will do a comedy show if it is good. Krushna is fab as Sapna. I am so proud of him. I have seen him perform live and when he enters the stage, everyone from audience to the celebrities get excited to see his act.

Journey from being Krushna Abhishek’s sister to having ‘Arti Ki Army’ fan clubs

There have been a lots of ups and downs. It has taken 10 years to be where I am, to find my identity. It has been tough but worth it. I feel very satisfied and content with what I have and earned so far. It feels like a wheel of fortune that has taken a turn. I always craved for a hit show and I never thought it will be the country’s biggest show for so many years. The love and respect I have got as Arti Singh, no other show would have given me. After 13 years, it was worth waiting.

Wouldn’t mind doing a show like Naagin

I don’t mind if a show like Naagin is offered. It is big and if it is doing good to your career then why not. I can’t expect that a show like Waaris will happen to me everytime.

Her bond with Rashami

I have been friends with Rashami for 8-9 years. So we do speak quite often. We fought over silly things like ‘chai patti’ in the show. These fights are very natural and common in a house like Bigg Boss. Everyone stays frustrated. She will always be my friend and I love her.

6/10

Bond with Karan Singh Grover and his wife Bipasha

She opened up saying that good friends Karan Singh Grover and his wife Bipasha Basu have been her constant support. She shared, “I met Bipasha through Karan Singh Grover but now I share one-to-one relationship with both. I haven’t seen a selfless person like Karan. He is the bestest human being and very motivating. Just today I didn’t feel like workout, but he was like ‘kar kar’. He said ‘you body will release happy hormones and you will feel good.’ Bipasha has also been very supportive. Every night she will call me as they know I am living all alone. They are nice people. I am very blessed to have them in my life. Bipasha has taught me positivity.”

Breaking the myth – exes can’t be friends

Arti shares a great bond with her ex-Ayaz Khan. From birthdays to house parties, they celebrate with their good friends and also wish each other on important occasion. Arti, who dated Ayaz for three years continues to be friends with him and his wife and there seems to be no awkwardness between them. Breaking the myth: exes can’t be friends, Arti shared, “They are good people.”

On fighting mental health issues

It is very important to talk. If you are feeling lonely, talk to someone. I am staying alone right now and you are seen me all decked up. But there are times when I really feel lonely and low. I get tired of working and started crying. It is normal. I called up Karan and he said it is fine to cry. It is ok to reach out to someone and talk it out. If you can’t talk, scribble it down. Work out, you will feel good and confident. Praying and meditating also helps. If you don’t feel like praying for yourself, pray for the world. Don’t feel negative.

9/10

Talking about physical abuse

Being alone is much better than staying with 10 people and feel lonely. I have learnt this in 2-3 years. When I am alone, I know I am alone and when I have people around, I can cherish those people. I have opened up a lot in the show because BB13 gave me a lot of confidence. When you know people are loving, you get that strength to open up. All this while I was only ashamed of myself thinking ‘log kya sochenge and kahenge’. I realised people will think what they have to think. I felt the responsibility towards the women who have suffered like me.

10/10

Have gone through a negative phase

I have slowly travelled from the negative to the positive phase. I haven’t suddenly turned into a positive and happy person. There is still a long way to go. I haven’t reached there yet. It is ok to feel sad.
