Exclusive- Reem Shaikh: I have been the biggest fan of Jennifer Winget and I am finally working with her

The newly launched show Raisinghani Vs Raisinghani has been garnering a lot of love and attention for its courtroom drama. Reem Shaikh who plays the character of Ankita in the series got candid about her character, bagging the show and more. Reem exclusively shared with ETimes TV her excitement to be a part of the show.

All my life I have admired Jennifer Winget and I am finally working with her

Someone who has inspired me all my life, I am working with her. I have been the biggest fan of Jennifer Winget all my life, all my childhood. I have only admired her. It is like I am finally working with her and I am learning so much from her everyday. I have gotten that opportunity to work with someone whom I have admired all my life. I have that chance to work with her for 6 months so what could be better than that. I have learnt so much from her in these 6 months and probably I will be at least 50% of an actor that she is.

For me, it is all about a good script than platform

For me it's work, it is a good script. More than doing OTT, it was doing a good script, I was looking forward to it. Then the other parameters come in. I was more excited about the story, and the character when it was pitched to me. It was more of a really good concept and character, so I knew that if I was really excited about it then the audience would be too. We got a positive reaction and we are very happy about it.

Ankita is so revengeful, it would be better I don't take her home

I think I shouldn't, it would be better. She is so revengeful, she is someone who has come up with an agenda for sure. She doesn't leave anything. If you have done something even if it is unintentional, Ankita will take it personally and she will remember it. The day she gets an opportunity, she will remove it from you and for a lifetime she will make you pay for it so I shouldn't take Ankita home. There is a reason behind that, life has never been kind to her and hasn't forgiven her of the burdens she has in the show. That has just made her the person that she is; it is a journey of Ankita becoming a better or worse person with time.

Reem is learning a lot from Anushka (Jennifer Winget)'s character

As Reem, I think I am learning a lot from Anushka's character (Jennifer) in the show as Ankita is the one who holds a lot of grudges and she has a different journey of being a better person. Reem is learning a lot from Anushka's character in the show.

Every character has changed me

Every character has changed me and I know that every character that I do in the future is also going to teach me so much about my life, and about people so I think the journey keeps going.

At times I find it a bit challenging to balance personal and professional life

At times when you are working for 6 days a week and when you get that Sunday, my mom updates me about everything that happened at home during those 6 days. Sometimes I wish that I was present to witness it and feel that moment, those cute ghar ki ladaayian and all. At times I really wish I was there to witness it and I could take that memory back with me as time is just passing by. After a point, all you are left with are memories. At times I find it a bit challenging to balance between personal and professional but I think I have done a fairly decent job.
