From addressing Kapil Sharma–Sunil Grover’s controversy to getting trolled over body weight: Kiku Sharda makes shocking revelations

The Great Indian Kapil Show is entertaining the audience with its fun and exciting episodes. Kiku Sharda, who is an important part of the show, recently made an appearance on Mr Faisu’s YouTube show. There, he opened up about his career, getting trolled over his body weight, his bond with The Kapil Show cast, and more. Here’s a look:

Faisu asked Kiku about his favourite cast member from The Kapil Show. Responding, he mentioned how he really enjoys working with Krushna Abhishek as he’s very hardworking, “Jabse The Great Indian Kapil Show, tab se it’s Krushna Abhishek. He is a very hardworking person, so I really enjoy working with him.”

Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover reunited for The Great Indian Kapil Show almost six years after their split in 2017. Their controversial fallout made headlines and shocked everyone. Addressing the controversy, Kiku said, “Ye toh choti-moti misunderstanding ho jaati hai, but aisi cheezon ko zyada underline nahi karte hai.”

Kiku spoke about some heartbreaking moments from his comedy career. He recalled times when his mother was unwell, yet he was still expected to perform comedy on stage, regardless of his personal feelings, “My parents are no more. However, when my mom was alive, there were times when she was unwell and I was expected to perform a comedy act. From within, I was extremely sad but had to do it for work.” He added that during such performances, he would call his mother during breaks to check on her.

Kiku opened up about his favourite Bollywood stars he has worked with, and the ones who don’t strictly follow scripts. He shared that Varun Dhawan, Ranveer Singh, and others are very cooperative and a joy to work with. He further mentioned that, among veteran actors, it is Akshay Kumar who is very hardworking and doesn’t believe in sticking to scripts.

Kiku also opened up about facing trolls over his body weight. He said he doesn’t really care about people’s opinions, as he is confident in himself. He shared how some people actually get inspired by him, “There was a girl who was overweight and wasn’t confident about her body. However, she gained confidence after seeing my performances and thanked me for the same.”

Kiku Sharda spoke about the ‘no-retake’ culture in The Kapil Sharma Show. He revealed how, once they go on stage, they have to improvise and take the segment forward, “There’s no retake culture in the Kapil show. It’s not like people don’t make mistakes there, but we avoid retakes. Once you hop on the stage, no matter what happens there, there’s no cut.”
