From Divyanka Tripathi-Vivek Dahiya to Ravi Dubey-Sargun Mehta: TV couples who went from co-stars to real-life partners

While working together, work often times can lead to falling in love, and that seems to be the case for these duos. From HH to JJ, these people may have started off their journeys as co-workers or even friends; however, somewhere along the line, the connection turned into something more. Here’s all you need to know about some of your favourite TV couples and their heartwarming stories.

2/7

Divyanka Tripathi and Vivek Dahiya

One of the most well-known couples that turned from co-workers to lovers, Tripathi and Dahiya first met when they were working on ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’. While Divyanka was the lead of the show, Dahiya joined it much later and starred as a police officer turned friend. As the two kept on working together, love blossomed, and they have now been married since July 8, 2016. Earlier this year, in March, they confirmed that they are expecting their first child as well!

3/7

Shoaib Ibrahim and Dipika Kakar

Another beloved couple, Ibrahim and Kakar, first met on the sets of the show ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ in 2011. When they met, they were nothing more than friends as Kakar was married to Raunak Mehta at the time. However, when the two got divorced, the co-stars met once again and started dating around 2015. From an old ETimes interview, Dipika had even shared how Shoaib stood by her through thick and thin at the time, “My parents stood by me, and Shoaib helped me navigate those tough times. However, we were not dating back then”, she said. The couple tied the knot in 2018 in an intimate ceremony and welcomed their son, Ruhaan, in 2023.

4/7

Sanaya Irani and Mohit Sehgal

This couple’s story first began on the sets of the 2008 show ‘Miley Jab Hum Tum’. The two were cast as the lead couple in the show, and while working through the scenes and maintaining on-screen chemistry, something happened between the two behind the scenes as well. The couple dated for quite a lot of years, however, kept their private life away from the public. Later on, on January 25, 2016, they tied the knot in a destination wedding in Goa and confirmed that they had been together all along.

5/7

Ravi Dubey and Sargun Mehta

Ravi Dubey and Sargun Mehta are another fan favourite couple who started off as on-screen lovers, and the friendship on set turned into something more. The two have known each other since 2009, when they first met on ‘12/24 Karol Bagh’. Going from colleagues to lovers, the two dated for quite some time, first getting to know each other. After dating for around 4 years, the couple officially tied the knot on December 7, 2013. The couple stays active on social media and often shares glimpses of their everyday lives as a married duo.

6/7

Ram Kapoor and Gautami Gadgil

The couple first met on the sets of ‘Ghar Ek Mandir’, where they began working together. Slowly, their friendship and chemistry on set grew, and the two started dating. After a few years, the two officially tied the knot on February 14, 2003, and have been together for more than 20 years now. They also have two children, Sia and Aks. Over the years, the two have supported each other. While talking to ETimes in 2018, Kapoor opened up about his relationship and stated that Gautami has been his biggest supporter. He added, “The reason why I am doing so well professionally is Gautami; it's only because of her. I am really lucky to have a wife from the industry who understands how it works here, who understands the pros and cons of the industry. She never asks me why am I working late night or travelling a lot. She just understands me so well.”

7/7

Hiten Tejwani and Gauri Pradhan

Hiten Tejwani and Gauri Pradhan first met in Hyderabad when they were working together for a commercial shoot. However, they turned into real-life partners after they were cast together on the show ‘Kutumb’ in 2001. After dating for a few years, the two ended up getting married in an intimate wedding on April 29, 2004. The couple recently celebrated their anniversary and even opened up about how life has been for the past 22 years. They also have two children: a son, Nevaan, and a daughter, Katya. Last month, Tejwani even shared a video of his wife on their anniversary and posted, “Happy Anniversary Beautiful… love you #hitentejwani #gpradhan #love #grateful # anniversary.”
