Actress Ankita Lokhande often gives fans a peek into her life through her social media posts and vlogs. Recently, she uploaded a new vlog on her YouTube channel where she spoke about her Navratri celebrations this year. Ankita revealed that after a very long she will be keeping the Navratri fast and shared how special the festival is for her. She also spoke about the joy and energy that comes with the preparations. The vlog captured fun and lively moments as the actress geared up for the festival with full enthusiasm.

​Childhood memories of Navratri in Indore

Ankita Lokhande begins her vlog by remembering how she celebrated Navratri during her childhood in Indore. She recalls playing garba throughout the nine days, wearing the nine colours with different lehengas each day, and also taking part in competitions. She then adds that after shifting to Bombay, she could no longer do many of the things she enjoyed back in Indore.

​Keeping a Navratri fast for husband Vicky Jain

Ankita shares that this year she decided to keep a Navratri fast, especially after her husband Vicky Jain suffered a serious accident when a glass broke in his hand. The injury was severe and required 45 stitches along with reconstructive surgery. Talking about this, she says that earlier she used to keep many fasts but now finds it difficult. However, this year she is determined to complete all 10 days and adds, “Mein joh than leti hu woh karke dikhati hu.” Ankita further says her only wish is for good health and peace for everyone.

​Navratri preparations in full swing

Speaking about her preparations, Ankita says that she recently came across a reel that mentioned when Devi calls you, you either start applying kumkum on your forehead or mehendi on your hands. She shares that though women usually put mehendi on Karwa chauth, she decided to apply it early this year to begin the celebrations. Ankita also revealed that she is ready with 10 different looks and outfits for the 10 festive days.

​Ankita shares winning a scooty at a Navratri competition in Indore

While getting her mehendi done, Ankita recalls a fun incident from her younger days in Indore. She says that Naidunia, a local newspaper, would host competitions during Navratri every year. She once won a scooty for wearing different outfits over the nine days. Ankita shared, “9 din ke alag alag kapade pehenkar jao. Ek bar meine Naidunia ka pure 9 din ka scooty jiti.” She laughs as she adds that she was handed a huge key but later it was taken back, and the scooty was never given to her. Her father was so upset at this that he was even ready to file a case.

​Applying mehendi with mom for Navratri

Ankita Lokhande and her mother got beautiful mehendi designs applied on their hands for Navratri. Ankita even added a small design on both her feet. She shared that to get a deep colour; she always places her hands over a utensil with cloves inside. While doing this, Ankita made a video call to her mother-in-law. When Ankita asked if she wanted to share something for the vlog, her mother-in-law said, “Tell Vicky to get well soon and come visit me.” Ankita then looked funnily at the camera and said, “My bag is already packed, but he doesn’t want to come.”

​Ankita shared the significance of the first day of Navratri

The next day, Ankita spoke about the rituals she planned to follow while fasting. Dressed beautifully in a white sari, she got ready for the first day of Navratri and shared that she was attending a Durga Maa Pooja at her mom’s friend’s house. She also explained the significance of the day, saying, “Aaj ka joh din hota hai woh Shailputri Mata ka din hota hai. And meine sunna hai kahi par ki sham koh sirf east ki taraf mu karke ek ghee ka diya jalana chahiye.”

​Attending Durga Maa Pooja

Ankita then visited her mom’s friend’s place for the Durga Maa pooja. Together with her mother and other women, she prayed and sang aartis in devotion. Later, she went to her mother’s house, which she lovingly calls “Amour.” Sitting with her mom, Ankita reflected on the rituals and shared how important this day felt. She said she was looking forward to the next nine days of fasting and celebrating Navratri with full devotion.
