From following Islam to getting trolled for inappropriate namaz outfit; how Rakhi Sawant grabbed headlines with her recent choices

Rakhi Sawant embracing Islam has raised a lot of eyebrows and she is once again under the watchful eyes of netizens, who do not miss a chance to troll her. The entertainer has forever been in the limelight for several reasons. Let’s take look at recent times when she grabbed headlines.

Rakhi Sawant gave a glimpse of praying in the holy month of Ramadan. However, what caught everyone’s attention is the short leggings she wore while offering namaz. While many appreciated her for doing namaz, they also pointed out how she should not have worn short leggings.

Former Bigg Boss contestant Sana Khan quit showbiz and is following Islam religiously. A user told Rakhi that if she wishes to embrace Islam, she should learn it from Sana Khan. The comment read, “Agar aap ko such mein Islam ko apnana hai to aap SANAKHAN SE miliye wo aap ko behtar samjha sakegi aisa sab kuch bhi na kare kyun ke itni unchi pant per namaz nahi hoti hai.”

Rakhi is often spotted outside gym and this has irked many and commented on her leading a happy life despite troubles in her marriage. Reacting to the same Rakhi said how people has been advising her to wear a burqa and sit at home. She said, “Jaise humne glamorous kapda pehen liya log dimaag kharab kar rahein hain. Gyan mat bato arey ghar mein beth jao, arey burqa pehenlo. Itna daraatey hain ye log toh koi Islam mein aayenga hi nahi. Duniya mein gyaan mat baato pehle khud sudhro baad mein logo ko bolna.”

While she embraced Islam, due to being born Hindu, Rakhi couldn’t go to Umrah. She said, “My heart is aching, I wanted to go for Umrah and I couldn't go. Due to being from a Hindu background, it is getting difficult for me to get a certificate. I have already chanted the Qalma, I offer namaz, keep Rozas and I consider myself a Muslim now. My name is Fatima, but I still couldn't get the certificate.”

While Rakhi is yet to legally divorce her husband Adil Khan, she had spoken about embracing Islam. She had said, “My husband made me accept Islam, so I am following it. It wasn't about my will or anything. I was born Hindu, I started following Christianity with my mother and now after getting married to Adil, he made me accept Islam. He is not a part of my life but now Islam is and I am offering namaz, keeping Rozas and trying my best to be a good Muslim. I will continue this, I find peace in it.”

Rakhi had a registered wedding in May 2022 and also got married according to Muslim traditions. She had told IANS at the time when news of her wedding came out, “It is not at all a fake marriage. First of all, a nikah was performed and all the procedures were followed and that nikah was also registered. There is a proper nikahnama. After performing nikah, there is a procedure in Mumbai that you have to register your marriage with the Municipal Corporation.”

Rakhi’s sudden announcement of secretly marrying Adil and then filing an FIR against him for allegedly cheating on her, stealing money, had grabbed many headlines. She also spoke on several instances about not wanting to divorce Adil so that he can’t ruin other girls’ lives and then wanting to give a divorce kept everyone confused about her decision. Rakhi also opened a dance academy in Dubai, where she wishes to focus on young talent and nurture it.
