In 2015, when the first season of Naagin launched, Mouni played the main naagin. She has repeatedly said in interviews that the role is close to her heart and she missed playing the character. She even said that if she is a naagin then Ekta Kapoor is the naagmani.

Besides Mouni Roy, Adaa Khan played a naagin in the first season. The show catapulted Adaa to fame and viewers felt she suited the role very well. Apparently, when Adaa had said a yes to the show, she didn't know her character would turn negative. But she was happy that people accepted her in a negative role as well.

When Surbhi was cast for season 5, everyone was surprised because she was very different from the previous naagins. However, the actress put in a lot of effort, lost weight and was in best shape throughout the shoot. She has always maintained that this was a challenging role and she is glad she took it up.

Just like the previous naagins, Nia too put in effort to look hot and enchanting. Nia is known for her glam avatar but she got into the character well. Unfortunately that season was affected by COVID and wrapped up a little before time. But Nia's chemistry with Vijayendra Kumeria was appreciated.

Anita was a part of season 3 and later she became a part of the next season too. She later became a part of the next season too. When the role was first offered to her she had instantly said a yes because of its popularity. Anita has enjoyed playing the naagin in both the seasons. In fact during season 4 she was apprehensive because of the COVID situation but eventually she was glad that she took up the roll.

Surbhi became the naagin in season 3 of the series. She had said in an interview that Mouni Roy had set high standards and so she had to work hard to become the perfect naagin. She lost a lot of weight and was on strict diet when she was playing the role.

Sayantani became popular when she did the show Naaginn way back in 2007. Many years later one saw her again in season 4. In an interview ,she had said, "I am happy that I am getting to play the role of Naagin once again in my life. It is a moment of nostalgia for me." Sayantani loves to play the naagin and in many ways, she can be called the original naagin. Interestingly, in 2007 she was paired with Shalin Bhanot and reunited again with him for the recent Naagin.

Sara too has played Naagin twice on screen. Once in Sasural Simar Ka 2 and then in Woh Teri Bhabhi Hai Pagle. In an interview she had said that she was really kicked about playing this character. In both the shows, she was seen in a glamourous avatar.
