Mona Singh, Rakhi Sawant: Television actresses who have got their eggs frozen

Television celebrities are no longer shy of trying alternative routes to pregnancy and talking about it in public. Over the years, several of them have opened up about having their eggs frozen in their 30s so they could have a child later. The list includes popular celebs like Mona Singh and Rakhi Sawant. Take a look.

Tanishaa Mukerjee in her latest interview with ETimes TV spoke about freezing her eggs at 39. The actress shared she was conflicted initially but once she turned 39, she felt sure about it. Sharing her experience, she said, "I wanted to freeze my eggs at the age of 33! At that time, when I went to my doctor (who finally froze my eggs now)… it's funny but she stopped me from doing so at that time. While she told me it takes a toll on your body, she adviced I should do it when I have no hope of conceiving a baby." (Photo: Instagram)

She shared, "I put on a lot of weight due to the procedure. They pump you with a lot of progesterone and it bloats you a lot." The actress, however, is back in shape and her transformation is inspiring. Talking about it, she said, "Post the procedure, I wanted to become fit. I started a hardcore regime. I have always been a physically fit person. I followed a diet that suits my body and became more aware as a person. In that process I got a six-pack." (Photo: Instagram)

Ekta froze her eggs at 36. While she had shared that she always desired to be a mother, the journey wasn't easy. This was also shared by her doctor Nandita Palshetkar, who had revealed in a post that they tried to help her get pregnant with multiple cycles of IVF and IUI but they did not turn out to be successful. She had added, "Hence, we had to take help of surrogacy which we performed 9 months back at our Bloom IVF centre. Nine months later she has achieved success with the birth of a child." Mona Singh got married at 39 but she is in no rush to have babies. The actress had shared with ETimes TV, "I have frozen my eggs and now I am free. I did that at the age of 34. Because I have gotten married now, I want to chill with my partner and travel the world with him. I haven’t done that yet. I have always travelled with my family or friends. I want to do that with my husband now and it is a different feeling now -- going for walks, getting all the attention, keeping Karwa Chauth vrat – all this is so nice. The actress has a supportive set of parents. She had said, "My mother was so happy when she heard about my decision to freeze my eggs. We both went to my gynaecologist in Pune and I had to take a few months break from work as the process involves a lot of mood swings. Rakhi Sawant, who has had a troubled married life, had revealed at the time of Bigg Boss that she wants to be a mother and has got her eggs frozen for the same. She told TOI, "My priority is to become a mother and experience motherhood. I don't need a Vicky Donor for my child, I need a father. I don't want to be a single mother. The former beauty queen first gave birth in 2016 with eggs that were frozen eight years ago. In March, 2018, the actress gave birth to twins through eggs that were frozen three years ago. Talking about it prior to delivery, Hayden had told TOI, "IVF doctors are God’s angels to help couples who have any form of difficulty in conceiving. Me being pregnant with twins is fantastic news.
