Guddan Tumse Na Ho Payega’s Nishant Malkani to get replaced post lockdown

Makers have decided to revamp the daily soap Guddan Tumse Na Ho Payega by replacing the current cast with new faces. The show will go in for a time leap of around 20 years and only Kanika Mann (who plays the female protagonist) and Daljeet Soundh (who plays dadi), will be retained. Kanika will play her own daughter post the time leap. This will mark the exit of the principal cast, including Nishant Malkani, who essays the role of the male lead. Producer Ved Raj says that this was always the plan. He told BT, “This decision has nothing to do with the lockdown. We had planned to introduce a time leap and a new track much before that. We realised that there was nothing left to explore in the original story. The new storyline seems promising. It’s just that the plan couldn’t be executed earlier because everything came to a halt owing to the lockdown.”

Rashami Desai

Ekta Kapoor's Naagin 4 will be revamped post lockdown. Rashami Desai has been removed from the show and roles of other actors have also been chopped. On the condition of anonymity, a source told BT, "It was a creative call taken by the channel and production house, keeping in mind the current situation in the country. Rashami has been informed about the decision. In these tough times, anything is possible and every actor or technician has to accept the situation and move on."(Photo: Instagram)

Nia Sharma

Nia Sharma, too, might be shown the exit door as a new season might commence as they wrap up Naagin 4. The show's lead, Vijayendra Kumeria might be retained. A source said, "This, too, was a part of the discussion between the production house and the channel, and this was even conveyed to a few actors. However, as of now, they are likely to continue with the current season and different actors. Lead actor Vijayendra Kumeria might continue on the show; of course, even that depends on the new storyline."(Photo: Instagram)

Jennifer Winget

Jennifer Winget played the role of Maya in the second season of Beyhadh. The show was titled, Beyhadh 2. The show got axed during the lockdown and speaking about the same, its producer Prateek Sharma, told BT, "We all are in an unprecedented situation here and I would totally agree and go ahead with channel's decision in this matter as whatever they will decide will be in the best interest of all the concerned parties, including producer, actors, writers and the rest of the crew."(Photo: Instagram)

Shivin Narang

Shivin Narang was quite vocal about the show being axed and spoke about the uncalled situation during such trying times. He told BT, "It is disappointing. All the actors, writers and the crew had worked very hard on this show, so we do feel bad. But, we also have to understand the current scenario. Everyone is affected by the pandemic, whether in India or globally. ‘Beyhadh 2’ was always a finite show, and the decision to wrap it up during the lockdown was taken from a business perspective."(Photo: Instagram)

Ashnoor Kaur

Patiala Babes that featured Ashnoor Kaur and Sourabh Raaj Jain went off air in April 2020. Speaking about it, the show's producer said that Patiala Babes was always a finite show and this decision of calling the show off was important given the current scenario. Show's lead, Ashnoor, who played Mini said, "I am not able to digest the fact that the show is over and we won't be working as a team. It is sad but I am happy that I got to portray a role like Mini and given the circumstances I think it was in everyone's interests."(Photo: Instagram)

Sourabh Raaj Jain

Sourabh Raaj Jain entered the show after Paridhi Sharma and Aniruddh Dave's exit. He played the role of a chef, Neil, and helped Mini with her restaurant. The actor spoke about the show's abrupt end and said, "We are living in unprecedented times and due to the lockdown, there was no clarity when shooting would resume. We were informed that a mutual decision was taken by the channel and our makers that the show was being pulled off air and would not be telecast after lockdown is lifted. It was always a finite series, and Neil and Mini's pairing was loved by the audience. I have personally enjoyed playing Neil’s character and he will always remain close to my heart."(Photo: Instagram)

Monalisa

Monalisa's Nazar 2 went off air and producer Gul Khan shared this news on social media. "Sad but true ... Nazar to go off air now ... feels like it was just yesterday it had launched ! TEAM NAZAR what an amazing job you guys did ! The most loving team of actors and technicians and writers I ever worked with ! Thank you,all of you for this wonderful journey!" this is what the producer wrote on her social media handle and this left the fans of the supernatural show disheartened." (Photo: Instagram)
