Transgender actress Shubhi Sharma celebrates Diwali with Rupali Ganguly, Nandita Mehra and Bhairavi Raichura
This Diwali, actress Shubhi Sharma, who has appeared in popular television shows like Anupamaa, Dhruv Tara, Saath Nibhaana Saathiya, Chaand Jalne Laga, Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya 2, Saavi Ki Savaari, and Nath, celebrated the festival of lights in the most meaningful way — surrounded by love, acceptance, and the warmth of her chosen family in the television industry.
Talking about her celebrations, Shubhi shared, “As this year Dhanteras and Shani Trayodashi coincide, it is considered a rare and highly auspicious occasion. It is believed to amplify the spiritual benefits of both events, merging the blessings of wealth and health with the discipline and long-term rewards of Lord Shani. During this rare alignment, Rupali ji and I performed special rituals seeking the favor of all the deities. Rupali is family to me, and festivities are family time. I wish good health, wealth, and success for her, like always.”
Shubhi was also spotted performing a Diwali Puja on the sets of her upcoming TV show Paro Sang Dev, where she celebrated with producers Nandita Mehra and Bhairavi Raichura. “Later, I also attended the Diwali Puja with my sisters, Nandita and Bhairavi, on the sets of Paro Sang Dev. It was really nice to unite with the cast — Arjun is a true gentleman and a very good friend now. Diwali evening was spent at home with my extended family here, including my niece Saachi Tiwari (actress) and nephew Aan (actor). I truly enjoyed Diwali in Mumbai this year.”
Reflecting on what the festival means to her, Shubhi said, “For us transgenders, Diwali is about sharing our blessings as we are considered forms of Goddess Lakshmi. It feels wonderful to see how people are accepting me and respecting who I am. My journey hasn’t been easy, but the love and support I’m receiving help me grow and shine.”
Currently in talks for her next project, Shubhi shared her excitement about what’s next while also expressing her eagerness to celebrate Chhath Puja, her favourite festival. She concluded warmly, “May this festival of lights fill everyone’s lives with warmth, joy, and prosperity.”
Shubhi Sharma’s radiant spirit and journey continue to inspire — shining a light on visibility, inclusion, and acceptance on national television.
