Rekha Ratheesh pleads to the government to take action on cyberbullying, saying, 'I can't take this anymore'
Malayalam TV actress Rekha Ratheesh has shared an alarming video on her social media account addressing the cyberbullying she has been undergoing. In the video, she pleads to the government and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to take some strong action against YouTube channels that are ridiculing celebrities for their content.
"Kerala Government and Pinarayi Vijayan sir, I am Rekha Ratheesh; I am an actress. I haven't had a job for the last 7 to 8 months. For the last 2 to 3 months, many YouTube channels have been making videos about me with filthy captions and thumbnails. They are not letting me live a normal life. I am a single mother who is struggling to make ends meet for my family. They are putting me under immense mental pressure, and I don't think I can take more of it," Rekha says in the video.
Further, the actress hints that she is on the verge of harming herself as she is unable to take the trauma anymore.
"Many people, especially from the industry, have lost their lives because of such YouTubers. Why I am doing this video is because, if something happens to me, I want everyone to know the reason for it. It is just because of those YouTubers who are exploiting others' lives. May this end with me. Please take strong actions against this. Please save us," she shares.
Soon after the video was out, along with netizens, many TV actors also came out in support of Rekha. Actors Maneesha, Souparnika, Arathy Sojan, and others have commented on the video.
'Rekha chechi has been through so much in life. Stay strong, chechi. and keep moving forward as the strong woman you are,' reads Arathy Sojan's comment.
Rekha Ratheesh is one of the most liked actors on Malayalam TV. The actress who is best known for her character Parasparam was seen in shows like 'Sasneham,' 'Pookkalam Varavayi,' and more.
