KHC: CID fame Shivaji Satam on receiving calls from strangers after robbery to Mahesh Manjrekar's take on Marathi cinema, some revelations made by the veteran actors

Marathi reality TV show Kon Honaar Crorepati recently welcomed veteran actors Shivaji Satam and Mahesh Manjrekar on the show in the 'dosti' special episode. The duo entertained the viewers by making various revelations about their experiences in the industry, their friendship of 40 years, their early days and more. Take a look.

Senior actor Shivaji Satam revealed on the show that he receives calls from anonymous people sometimes whenever robberies or crimes happen in their house. He said, "People still think that I am a real CID officer. One day I was walking on a road near my building and there was a guy, who was trying to snatch the bag of a person and police arrived at the location. Instead of taking the cop's help, the victim came to me and told me, sir, please help me, I do not have trust in anyone. Also, I do get calls from people sometimes whenever robberies happen."

Host Sachin asked Mahesh about what he thinks about the Marathi films and their growth and the latter said that the Marathi film industry needs to grow now. He said: "Marathi makers always complain saying they do not get enough theaters but what if the project is that good enough? My few films did not work in the box office so it's the issue of the film not the theatre. My other movies including Natsamrat, Kaksparsh, and Me Shivajiraje Bhosle boltoy were superhit films at the box office and they got theatre screens too. I think Marathi cinema needs to grow now and start investing their money and increase their budget."

Host Sachin asked Mahesh whether he had spent a day without any work and the latter said that he didn't. Mahesh said, "There was not a single that has gone without work. I like to work because I feel if I stop, it will be the end. I feel medicines cure your diseases but your will power cures more. When I was recovering from cancer, I shot the first promo of my show. The tubes and wires were all around me but I worked. That's how I like to be active."

Mahesh spoke about casting Marathi actors in the majority of his Bollywood films and said that he believes artists in the Marathi industry are well-versed in acting. He said, "I have cast the majority of actors in my films so far. I feel if he or she does the acting well then why not. Also, Marathi actors are well-versed in acting and that's why I give my preferences to Marathi actors first."

Shivaji Satam spoke about his fear of the stage and how he was scared when he did his first play many years ago. He said, "I was very scared. I even forgot my dialogue midway. I had stage fear but later as I got the experience, I became more confident."
