Gandhi Jayanti: Noida Authority installs charkha made of plastic waste in Sector 94

Ahead of Gandhi Jayanti, Noida Authority installed a charkha made of plastic waste in Sector 94. According to the authority officials, it is the largest plastic waste charkha in the world which will be formally inaugurated on October 1. The 14-feet high, 20-feet long and 8-feet wide sculpture is slightly smaller than the world’s largest charkha installed at Delhi’s IGI airport, which is made of teakwood. Gandhi Jayanti marks the birth anniversary of ‘Father of Nation’ Mahatma Gandhi. It is also celebrated as International day of non-violence.
