In a massive security crackdown, Iranian authorities say they have arrested more than 100 individuals linked to what they describe as “terrorist” groups. Security forces also reportedly confiscated over 3,000 weapons, along with large stockpiles of ammunition and bladed weapons, in the sweeping nationwide operation that was launched amid the war with the US and Israel. Madras High Court Flags 'Rs 100 Crore Irregularity' In Vijay's Poll Affidavit

The Madras High Court on Monday admitted a petition seeking an Income Tax probe into the asset declarations of actor-politician Vijay, who is leading TVK’s electoral debut in Tamil Nadu. During the hearing, the court orally flagged an alleged discrepancy exceeding ₹100 crore in his affidavits and termed it a serious irregularity. Notices were issued to Vijay, the Income Tax Department, the Election Commission of India, and concerned returning officers. The petitioner has claimed inconsistencies between affidavits filed in different constituencies, raising concerns over possible suppression of assets. The plea seeks a detailed investigation, noting that any proven false declaration could attract legal consequences, including penalties or disqualification.
