5.2 magnitude earthquake jolts Kamjong district of Manipur
IMPHAL: A 5.2 magnitude earthquake struck Kamjong district in Manipur on Tuesday morning, sending strong tremors across the region, according to official data.The quake occurred at 5:59 am, as confirmed by the National Center for Seismology. Tremors were felt in and around Kamjong area, prompting brief panic among residents.
"Earthquake of Magnitude: 5.2, Occurred on 21/04/2026, 05:59:33 IST, Lat: 24.703 N, Long: 94.415 E, Depth: 62 Km, Location: Kamjong, Manipur, India," the NCS said on X.However, there have been no reports of loss of life or major damage so far.Meanwhile, Uttarakhand also experienced seismic activity on Monday. A 3.0 magnitude earthquake struck Pauri Garhwal on Monday at 8:32pm IST. The epicentre was located at latitude 29.959°N and longitude 78.378°E, at a depth of 10 kilometres, the National Center for Seismology said.
