Prime Minister Narendra Modi called the West Asia situation a matter of grave concern, underlining India’s focus on stability and diplomacy. While the opposition demands a formal statement, New Delhi’s approach aligns with the response of most global powers. Historical tensions with Khamenei, including repeated interventions on Kashmir, Article 370, and the 2020 Delhi riots, shape India’s measured reaction. The Ministry of External Affairs emphasized regional security, protection of the Indian diaspora, and uninterrupted energy flows, reflecting a strategic, national-interest-driven policy rather than a political or communal response.
