With hours remaining in election campaign, Trump & Harris rally in key battleground states

With mere hours remaining in the election campaigns, both Donald Trump and Kamala Harris maintain busy schedules focused on key battleground states.

President Trump is scheduled to hold rallies in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Georgia. These states, considered crucial for securing victory, will see the President addressing supporters in a last-minute effort to garner votes.

With less than 48 hours to go in the US election and more than 77.6m votes already cast, new polling shows Kamala Harris leading among early voters in the country’s battleground states.

The Democratic candidate has an 8% lead among those who have already voted, while her opponent, Donald Trump, is ahead among those who say they are very likely to vote but have not yet done so.

Trump faces fresh criticism over his attacks against journalists after he said during a Pennsylvania campaign rally that he wouldn’t “mind so much” if a potential assassin would “shoot through the fake news” to get to him.
In a poll of Latino voters in Pennsylvania, 53 percent said that recent remarks insulting Puerto Rico made at a Trump rally were “very disrespectful” towards Latinos.

The poll, from the New York Times and Siena College, also found Harris was slightly ahead in three swing states, with Trump up in one and the other three too close to call. With only hours of campaigning left, Harris was speaking in Michigan.

The former president will spend another busy day on Monday crisscrossing several battleground states.
Trump will hold a rally in North Carolina in the morning before travelling to Pennsylvania for events in Reading, west of Philadelphia, and in Pittsburgh.
He will then end the day with a rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he will seek to energise his base to get out and vote on November 5.

The Harris campaign says it mobilised 90,000 volunteers to do it.
Spokesman Ian Sams said in a social media post that the effort was “the Harris campaign’s GOTV [get out the vote] weekend” – just before Election Day on Tuesday.

Harris has sought to appeal to Arab Americans in Michigan by stressing the “devastating” toll of Israel’s wars on Gaza and Lebanon, but community advocates say that words are not enough. More than 78 million Americans have already cast their votes, according to a tally by the Election Lab at the University of Florida.

The results on Election Day will come down to seven states: Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump have visited them the most. Together, these states are likely to deliver the Electoral College votes needed for the winning candidate to get a majority of 270.
