Tripura Public Service Commission Chairman, Retired Colonel Kush Kumar Sharma, was detained for allegedly causing a disturbance at a hotel while inebriated and interfering with police. He reportedly abused the Tourism Minister and threatened officers after his son obstructed the minister's convoy. Both father and son were released on bail.
In Tripura's Udaipur, a woman named Purnima Das was publicly tortured, accused of an extramarital affair. A mob, allegedly instigated by BJP leaders, tied her up, forcibly cut her hair, and mocked her. The incident, filmed by onlookers, sparked outrage, but police have reportedly targeted the victim's relatives instead of the instigators.
