A 42-year-old Central Jail inmate serving life sentence for the murder of his father-in-law was found hanging in his cell.

AGRA: A 42-year-old Central Jail inmate serving life sentence for the murder of his father-in-law was found hanging in his cell.
Identified as Alok Gupta of Vamainpur village under Atrauli police jurisdiction, Aligarh district, the man was sentenced in 2012 for shooting dead Nandkishore. In 2015, he was shifted to Agra Central Jail.
According to jailer Shivpratap Mishra, “Inmate was mentally disturbed and was undergoing treatment.

He was kept in a secluded cell.”
Sources said, “On Wednesday night, after having dinner, Alok went to his cell. At around midnight, our guards saw him hanging, He had used his shoe lace to hang himself.”
Gupta’s body was sent for an autopsy but no written complaint was lodged by his relatives. According to his brother, Anshul Gupta, Alok got married in 2001 but in 2006, due to a dispute with his wife, Alok shot dead his father-in-law.
