SUV flees petrol pump without paying for fuel in UP; case registered

MATHURA: A black Mahindra Thar SUV allegedly drove away from a petrol pump in Mathura without paying for fuel after refuelling. The vehicle, which reportedly had no number plate, was captured on CCTV footage at the fuel station.According to reports, the SUV stopped at the petrol pump and got fuel filled before speeding away from the premises without making the payment. A salesman at the petrol pump attempted to stop the vehicle and recover the money, but the occupants managed to flee.Following a complaint, the police registered a case under relevant sections and launched an investigation into the incident. Efforts are underway to identify the vehicle and its occupants using CCTV footage and other available evidence.Police said that a formal FIR has been lodged at Jamunapar police station and further legal action is being taken in the matter.
