Gujarat Local Body Election Results 2025 Live Updates: Congress makes mark in Songadh municipality, BJP dominates with 21 seats

Counting is currently underway for the elections of Junagadh Municipal Corporation, 66 municipalities, three taluka panchayats, and various by-elections in Gujarat. More than 5,000 candidates contested these elections, with voter turnout recorded at 44.32% for Junagadh, 61.65% for the municipalities, and 65.07% for the taluka panchayat polls. In several seats, the BJP won uncontested due to withdrawals from other parties. This election marked the implementation of a 27% OBC reservation and a 50% reservation for women in local bodies. There were reports of EVM malfunctions in some areas, as well as disputes among political party workers. By-elections were also held for key municipal wards across major cities.
