Prayagraj youth falls for ‘job’ scam to ‘impregnate’ women
Prayagraj: In a strange case of cyber fraud, a youth from Prayagraj fell for a scam offering jobs to young men to make physical relations with women from rich families and ‘impregnate' them. For this, youths were promised a salary of Rs 5 lakh a month.The case came to light when one Altaf Khan of Mauaima reported the matter to police after being duped of about Rs 25,000.Khan claimed that he saw the job advertisement on Facebook. Tempted on seeing the condition mentioned on the advertisement and the salary, he clicked on the link to apply for the job. Soon, the cyber thugs contacted him through WhatsApp messages and calls and asked him to pay Rs 800 for registration.Khan transferred the money to the account mentioned. The thugs also sent him photos of women and asked him to transfer Rs 24,000 more for other formalities.Later, the cons told him that since he has to go abroad for the job, he must pay Rs 3 lakh more.Sensing something fishy, Khan stopped taking their calls. Soon, he started getting threating calls and messages from different numbers. He said the calls were made from IDs with photos of police officers wherein the caller would tell him that if he didn't oblige, he would be sent to jail.Scared over this, Khan confided in a social worker of his village who advised him to file an online complaint. He also submitted a complaint to the additional police commissioner, cyber crime.Mauaima police said the matter has come to their notice and probe was on.
