TIRUPATI: The sixth additional sessions judge's court in Chittoor has imposed a life sentence on Jagadeeswara Reddy after convicting him of murdering his wife.
Jagadeeswara Reddy (40), upon suspecting her fidelity, had slit the throat of his wife Sushmita (34) at their residence in Agraharam village of Irala mandal in May 2020. Their daughter, who found to her shock her mother lying in a pool of blood in the room, filed a complaint with Irala police.
The police registered a case and arrested the accused within one day at YS gate locality and sent him to remand.
When the case came up for hearing before the sixth ASJ Shanti on Thursday, she delivered the verdict by convicting him of murder under 235 (2) of Cr.PC and sentenced him for life imprisonment.
Superintendent of police (Chittoor) Y Rishant Reddy appreciated the police and prosecution teams that cracked the case and brought it to a logical end towards conviction.
