Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Experts and amateurs have the opportunity to witness the rare philatelic collection of the Department of Posts, which is set to host a grand exhibition at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar from Jan 30.
The two-day district-level exhibition is scheduled to be held at Kailas Shilp, TV Centre. The exhibition aims to preserve and showcase India's rich heritage, including its freedom fighters, culture, history, flora, fauna, arts and space research, through the medium of postage stamps.
"The exhibition CSNPEX-2026 will showcase the historic collection of over 10,000 rare stamps dating from 1854 to the present day across 100-plus frames," G Hariprasad, senior superintendent of post offices, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar division, said.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, activities such as letter writing and quiz competitions will be organised for participants aged 10 and above, with attractive prizes for winners.
Visitors will also be able to explore philatelic literature, ‘My Stamp' counters and various stalls by prominent stamp collectors.
"Dedicated stalls will also be set up to provide information regarding various schemes and services offered by the Department of Posts," the postal department authorities said.
