Pilibhit: Thirteen people, including four women, sustained injuries during a clash over a pet dog taking a man's slipper three days earlier in Kanpari village of Pilibhit on Tuesday night, police said on Wednesday.
When Mahipal Singh confronted his neighbour Ram Asare, the pet dog's owner, in the matter, a fight broke out between the two groups involving long sticks and sharp-edged weapons. Police received complaints from both sides.
While nine injured were treated by Dr Akhilesh Kumar, medical officer at local community centre, two injured persons were referred to Autonomous State Medical College Hospital at district headquarters for advanced care.
Bilsanda SHO Siddhant Sharma said, "Asare filed a complaint against four people who were charged under BNS sections 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 352 (intentional insult) and 351(3) (criminal intimidation)."
"Singh, 43, also lodged a complaint, resulting in an FIR against five persons from Ram Asare's group under BNS section 191(2) (rioting), in addition to the same three sections cited in the previous FIR," Sharma added.
