UP teacher held for ‘sexual assault’ of 15 minor girls
Shahjahanpur: A computer teacher of a government school in a village in Tilhar area of UP’s Shahjahanpur has been arrested on Sunday for allegedly attempting to sexually assault 15 girl students, mostly Dalits. All these minor students are in class VII and VIII.
As the accused teacher was allegedly supported by the school principal and an assistant teacher, all the three have been booked under sections 354 (attempt to outrage the modesty of a woman), 352 (punishment for assault or criminal force) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of IPC, along with relevant sections of the Pocso Act and the SC/ST Act after the issue was raised by one of the teachers of the same school on Saturday.

Basic Shiksha Adhikari Kumar Gaurav said, “The head teacher and the assistant teacher have been suspended with immediate effect, and a departmental enquiry has been ordered against them.”
The teacher was sent to jail on Sunday after the statements of all the girls were recorded by police in the presence of their guardians.
