The anti-evasion wing of the service tax commissionerate, Bangalore on Thursday arrested a building consultant M G Satish Kumar for allegedly evading service tax of Rs 1.16 crore.

BANGALORE: The anti-evasion wing of the service tax commissionerate, Bangalore on Thursday arrested a building consultant M G Satish Kumar for allegedly evading service tax of Rs 1.16 crore.
The accused, Kumar is managing director of Entask Consultancy services, Union Street, Bangalore.
"Accused, being the managing director, collected the service tax amount from April 2010 to March 2013 from his customers but failed to remit the same to the government.

Earlier too, the Consultancy had been booked for evading service tax of Rs 1.44 crore,'' said a release from the office of the commissioner of central tax and excise.
Even after repeated warnings and alerts, the accused continued to evade till date. Accordingly, we arrested Kumar on Thursday," a press release from the office of the commissioner of central tax and excise, the release added.
Soon after the arrest, Kumar was produced before a local court.
