BANGALORE/MUMBAI: Owner's envy, neighbour's pride. Infosys chairman and chief mentor N R Narayana Murthy is being wooed by the Maharashtra government even as the government in his home state is all set to accept his resignation as chief of Bangalore International Airport Ltd.
Perhaps taking advantage of the fact that Murthy and Infosys had their formative years in Pune, Maharashtra CM Vilasrao Deshmukh has invited Murthy to drive a mega IT City in Pune.

"We've offered all infrastructure in Pune to Murthy. He's shown interest," Deshmukh told The Times of India.
Development in Pune, which is coming up as a counter-magnet to Bangalore, is cranked up to bring in the best of companies to set shop, said sources.
Sources said the decision to invite Murthy was made at the cabinet meeting and Maharashtra IT minister Ashok Chavan was tasked with convincing the Infy chief. Chavan is expected to meet Murthy soon.
Soon after Deve Gowda's tirade against Infosys on land acquisition, West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh iterated they'll offer all facilities on a platter to Infosys to set up a big campus.
