Nirbhaya awards on women's day

BANGALORE: To give International Women's Day a special touch, Aasare trust, a trust working in the field of women empowerment, is giving away Nirbhaya awards for women who have shown exemplary achievement in different fields. The awards will be presented on at 5 pm, March 8 at Yavanika, Bangalore to commemorate the women's day.
Cop Anjumala T Nayak, advocate Lalitha Narayanaswamy, educationist Mangala Mohan and K T Rani are the recipients for their extensive work in their respective areas.While Women's Rights Activist Anandhi is getting an award, Keerthana will get the same in the field of sports, Avi Keswani for fashion and women entrepreneurship and Dr Supraja Chandrashekar is from medical field.
Noted actress and Women and child welfare minister Umashri will inaugurate the programme. BBMP Deputy Mayor Indira and former ministers Shobha Karandlaje and B T Lalita Nayak will be the chief guests.
