BHOPAL: A Chunabhatti-based businessman fell in the trap of online fraudsters when he searched the internet for the customer care number of an online shopping portal to complain about the delayed delivery of a book he ordered on the portal. The fraudster posing as the customer care executive, siphoned Rs 74,000 from his bank account in multiple transactions.
Chunabhatti police said a case has been registered.

Karanveer Singh, 41, a resident of Windsor Estate Colony in Chunabhatti, runs a business and had ordered a book online through an shopping portal. The accused introduced himself as a customer care executive and took details of his debit card. When Singh found that the money was siphoned from his bank account, he approached police and lodged a complaint.
