Commotion in Kolar over demolition drive

The bhopal ruckus and confusion prevailed as administration undertook demolition of around three dozen properties for development of a sixlane road in Kolar. The properties were at the trijunction in Kolar, and demolition took place with large police presence. The 15kmlong sixlane from Kolar to Gol Jod is being built at a total cost of Rs. 222 crore. Clearing of the road along Gol Jod will lead to the creation of half a dozen bridges and culverts. Clearing of the path from Gol Jod to Bimakunj was swift, however residents protested removal of encroachments up to Kolar Guest House Intersection officials said that notices were already issued a month ago. Sdm Sanjay Srivastava and Tehsildar Avnish Mishra have been directed to conduct another survey.
