Habibganj police book women operators staging protest at JP Hospital
Times News NetworkBhopal: Habibganj police on Thursday registered a case against women operators who were staging a protest at the Jai Prakash Hospital campus on charges of obstructing government work. The case was registered following a complaint lodged by the additional director of the Public Health and Medical Education Directorate.Police said as per the complaint around 40 to 50 women have been holding a sit-in protest inside the campus since May 19. The protest was allegedly being led by Mamta Hirve, a resident of Khargone, who is currently posted as a data entry operator in Khargone district through the National Health Mission.The complaint alleged that the women neither informed the department in writing about the protest nor obtained any permission for the demonstration. It was further alleged that on May 23, Mamta Hirve and other women disrupted official work during office hours inside the government premises, due to which employees remained stranded in the campus for nearly one to two hours and official work was affected.Police said the complaint also mentioned that during the protest, Mamta Hirve allegedly attempted to create a noose using her dupatta near the main gate of the office and encouraged other women to do the same. Around 7.15pm, the protesters allegedly attempted to damage a government vehicle and lay down in front of it, police said.Based on the complaint, Habibganj police registered a case against Mamta Hirve and other women involved in the protest.
