Six booked in MP’s Dhar for objectionable post on Bhojshala
Dhar: Dhar Kotwali police late on Saturday booked six persons for allegedly posting objectionable comments on social media along with a video shot at Bhojshala, police said. No arrests had been made till the filing of the report.
Kotwali police station in-charge Deepak Singh Chouhan told TOI that a complaint was filed by Himanshu Badge, 21, a resident of Nalcha Darwaja area in Dhar town, on Friday night.
According to police, Aman Khan allegedly posted a video of Bhojshala on social media on Friday afternoon while religious rituals were underway at the site and uploaded it with an objectionable remark. Police said Sonu Khan, Altaf Mirza and three others later posted comments on the same post.
The complainant submitted screenshots of the post and comments to the police. Following an investigation, police registered a case against all six accused under section 223(B) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for disobedience of an order promulgated by a public servant.
Chouhan said the alleged act was in violation of the prohibitory orders issued by the Dhar district administration. The administration had widely circulated the orders across Dhar and through social media platforms to maintain peace and communal harmony in view of recent court proceedings related to Bhojshala.
Police said efforts were on to trace the accused, but no arrests had been made so far.
The case comes a day after large-scale celebrations were held at Bhojshala on Friday following court orders that allowed the Hindu side to perform worship at the site.
