Step dad gets life term for 12-yr-old’s rape

Bhopal: A special POCSO court sentenced a man to life imprisonment till his natural death and also slapped a penalty of Rs 99,000 on him for raping his step daughter, in Bhopal on Friday .
According to PRO for the prosecution wing of the district police, Manoj Tripathi, following death of her husband, the survivor’s mother had married the accused in Bhopal.He, however, used forcibly to sleep near her 12-year-old daughter from the first marriage, threatening her not to tell anything to her mother.
Police had registered a case under relevant sections of the IPC and POCSO Act.
The court of special POCSO judge Padma Jatav held the accused guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment and the penalty as well. tnn
